TIRE SAFETY:
You probably didn't know there are several safety factors involved in choosing and maintaining your industrial or commercial equipment tire. Let's review some actual fact about tire usage and safety.
-
Poor or worn tires can lead to increased workmans compensation cases. Tires that are in need of replacement or that have been ran past they're intended wear bars can lead to driver back fatigue, inability to stop in emergency situations and can lead to workplace accidents.
-
Tires that have been "ran out" or past the safety wear bar can put stress and undue fatigue on the equipment, thereby making repairs more frequent.
-
Improper rubber or material, mounting and tread can lead to all to often, hazardous conditions. Proper Tire selection is a key to maintaining any warehouse and job safety compliance. Not all tire may appear to be able to handle what they're intended for. For example, if your business has smooth surface type floors maybe a solid smooth tire is a better selection than a full traction type tire. Maybe you have chemicals that produce a slick surface a standard rubber compound traction or smooth industrial tire may give way to slippage or provide little or no traction. That's why we think its vital that the company that sells tires needs to be trained and knowledgeable to make sure your getting the right tire for the right application.
-
All to often some tire companies fail to address the OEM specifications on your equipment and just provide a "best fit" approach, which in some cases can lead to improper wear, performance or worse a industrial accident.
Remember just because the tires are round doesn't mean they are performing like new!
